A Little Bit More About Me
Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Jocelyn and I am starting a bookkeeping business along with this blog. Feel free to read and follow along on this business venture while I explore the ins and outs of running my second small business. If you haven’t read the “About” page, please do so. In the meantime, here is a little bit more about me.
I have been a small business owner, an office manager for a firm, and a bookkeeper for a firm and I have found a different, impactful aspect/skill each of which have helped me on my journey in discovering what I want to do long-term:
1. The structure and independence I have as a small business owner is undeniably how I want to conduct my work life
2. The organization and management of an office manager is how I want to conduct my business affairs
3. The bookkeeping skills that I have gathered as a bookkeeper is how I want to conduct the day-to-day business tasks
I work from home, or remotely - which, if you haven’t tried it, you should! You won’t go back! Though I have heard it is not for everybody, it sure does work for me. I love my home, my husband, and my doodle and there’s no other place I would conduct the business that I love. I prefer to keep life simple and you’ll continue to see that as a constant theme within my business, blog posts, and lifestyle. I believe that the majority of issues in life can be solved, or at least greatly lessened, by simply simplifying. Flat-fee pricing is one of the impactful ways that I use my bookkeeping business structure to simplify budgeting for small businesses. By giving clients a predetermined flat-fee, you can take the worry out of paying your bookkeeping bill month-to-month – see? Simple!
My hope for this blog is to provide content that is helpful and engaging to small business owners and people just trying to figure out what they want to do in business. If you just want some bookkeeping tips and how-to’s, well I think I got you covered on that front too! In the next blog post, I plan on going over my intentions for this blog and some important topics that I plan to cover. To find out when the next weekly blog post is available, please subscribe!
